Are you prepared for an Angle Closure?

PO-6457

According to eMedicinehealth.com “Acute angle-closure glaucoma is caused by a rapid or sudden increase in pressure inside the eye, called intraocular pressure (IOP)”. To read more click here.  When this occurs immediate treatment is needed to prevent vision loss and damage to the eye.  Many doctors prefer to keep the items necessary to treat an angle closure on hand in case of an emergency.

Kits can be compiled that contain pharmaceuticals needed to reduce intraocular pressure. All of the products should be kept together in a place where they can be quickly located in the event of an emergency.  It is also important check the expiration dates on your products often and replace as needed.  Remember… it is better to be safe than sorry.
