Attention Students!!!

grad hat

One of the goals of this blog is to be a resource to optical and optometry students.  The November/December issue of Vision Care Product News and the National Federation of Opticianry Schools announced:

Essilor of America kicked off a new program providing second-year students at National Federation of Opticianry Schools the opportunity to join the National Academy of Opticianry and the Opticians Association of America at no cost. The program is a joint venture between the four parties, funded by Essilor.

“Essilor remains committed to offering opticianry students with the resources needed to become the best and brightest students in their field,” said Danne Ventura, Essilor’s director of professional services. “As part of Essilor’s ongoing partnership with eyecare professionals, we are proud to sponsor an initiative that supports the future of opticianry.”

Second-year students will have a four-week window to sign up on the NFOS Web site; the students’ names will then be shared with the NAO and OAA for membership. Upon graduation, participating students will be offered discounted membership in both professional organizations.

The four week time period is not specified so we recommend you hurry if you are interested in this offer.
