Two ways to boost holiday retail dollars in your optical store… and how Amcon can help!

Remind your customers that it’s time to start shopping with Amcon’s festive holiday shopping bag.

The holiday shopping season has officially begun! I say this because I am already encountering Christmas music and decor in boutique shops and large box stores. And ( I don’t mean to brag in saying this) I have already wrapped a couple of Christmas presents. The holidays are by far the busiest shopping time of year – but how does an optical shop cash in on this spending frenzy?

After skimming through a myriad of retailing advice columns on-line – I came away with two simple ideas to help boost your holiday retailing dollars: 1) remind your customers that the holidays are approaching and 2) have something for them to buy that will make a great holiday gift.

There are a number of ways you can remind your shoppers that the holidays are here.   Decorate your office! It will do more than put your staff into the holiday spirit.  Also – consider giving away holiday themed lens cleaner, or pack up their goodies in a holiday themed shopping bag.  Both gestures go a long way in reminding your customers that “HELLLOOOOO – the holidays are here!”

But what good does all that do if your customers are in the shopping spirit but have nothing to buy in your store? Stock up on retail-friendly items that make unique stocking stuffers.   Kids sunglasses, eyeglass charms and ficklets,  designer contact lens cases, eyeglass cleaning kits, novelty key chains, eyeglass chains and cords and magnifiers all make great gifts, and items you can’t get just anywhere.

You see – there is a lot of potential for holiday shopping in your optical shop, you  just need to remind your customers that all they need is right in front of them.
