Doggie Eyewear – Protecting Your Pooch’s Peepers

Does your dog need glasses?

Does your dog need glasses?

When reviewing our recent product requests from customers I came across an inquiry about “Doggles” so I did some research and discovered that there are lots of eyewear options for dogs. My husband and I recently adopted a terrier mix. Over the last couple of weeks I have been in and out of pet stores trying to find the right sweater, toys, crate, harness, etc. It never occurred to me to research eyewear for our new family member. If you are like me, your dog is like your child. You would do anything you can to protect him or her. Several products exist on the market to keep your dog’s eyes safe.

Dog Eyeglasses
Available in different sizes and styles, dog eyeglasses can help improve your dog’s sight. Vendors such as Warby Barker sell their doggie glasses for around $95 a pair.

Dog Sunglasses
Does your dog squint in the sun? Dog sunglasses are all the rage! Doggles are by far the most popular brand and are available at a variety of retailers and online suppliers.

Dog Goggles
Dog goggles will not only protect your dog from bright sunlight and UV rays, they also protect against debris entering the eyes, especially during car rides or when on the water.

So, what do you think? Would you invest in eyewear for your pooch?

  1. I would definitely be interested in doggie sunglasses! My dog has light brown eyes and squints all the time in the sun. I have actually been looking for them.
